SOCIAL COMMITTEE - We are looking for some new members to work on the social committee. At the last meeting we gathered ideas and now we need people to help organize an event.  Volunteers should talk to Michelle.
 
JUST DUCKY NEWS - Just Ducky is looking for ideas for the Retirement Party Night.  They are looking for game ideas or anything that might be fun.  The new 30th Snow Village building has the original seven pieces shown inside building.  Fright Night had little participation.  Check into advertising on Cable TV.  November 4, 5 and 6 is "Retirement Weekend" at Just Ducky.  Retired buildings and accessories will be announced on November 4th.  There will be no retirement discounts until after 12/26.  Special thank you to Ron Blazek for helping with the Just Ducky train display.
 
GENERAL INFORMATION  - Chicago 2006 Gathering - Wyndham Hotel, April 27-30, 2006, and Swap & Sell at Long Grove on October 15th, 2005.
 
CLUB BUSINESS - Thank you to Don Alton for Halloween set up at Ronald McDonald House.  We will set up the North Pole at Ronald McDonald House on November 14, 2005 at 10:00 a.m.
  • Digest - Tom is still looking for anyone wanting to participate in an occasional column or idea for the digest.
  • Halloween Housewalk - As of today, there are 17 tickets sold.  Members volunteered to make calls to sell more tickets.  Ducky 56ers participating in housewalk will have a private housewalk Friday night at 6:30 p.m.
  • Naperville Meeting will be held on November 8th, 2005 at 7:30 p.m.  Garrett possibly will do demos.  Club members will discuss problems setting up their villages.
  • Demonstration possibilities - Ron Blazek - how to bury electric boxes.
  • Holiday Housewalk plans will be finalized at our November meeting.  The housewalk will be held on January 14, 2006 - 1:00-7:00 p.m.  The Members Only Housewalk will be on January 22, 2006.
  • Executive Board Meeting - We considered giving Tote Bags to new members and existing members.  The bags will have a Ducky 56ers logo on them.  There will be one tote per membership.  New members will receive a tote bag with welcome gifts, i.e., club pin, Celebrations, etc.  The idea was approved by Club Members.  Since the tote has been approved, Just Ducky will be asked about possible participation in the purchase.  Club is considering selling bags at Gathering.
 DEMO: Kirk's Foam Demonstration - another great job!!
 1. First start with styrofoam
 2. Use Great Stuff Insulating Foam - BE SURE to follow instructions and wear gloves
 3. Be prepared - it expands.
 4. Running wires is more difficult but exacto knives work well to cut the foam.
 5. Can be used for snow, but must be painted white (use Design Masters paint
